Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon sustained facial and hand lacerations when he was bitten by a dog Monday, the team announced Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Gordon “is in good condition and will remain away from the team while he recovers,” the team said in a news release.
Denver beat Golden State 120-114 in a Christmas game Monday in Denver, and Gordon had 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal.
He is averaging 13.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists and shooting 52.5% from the field. Gordon is a key contributor for the Nuggets and played a significant role in the franchise’s first championship last season.
