Everything was not what it seemed when it came to dating on the set of the Wizards of Waverly Place.
In fact, as Wizards alum Jennifer Stone revealed on the Wizards of Waverly Pod podcast, she had a crush on "every one" of co-star Selena Gomez's onscreen love interests, and even went on a semi-date with one of them—Austin Butler.
After podcast co-host and Wizards co-star David DeLuise shared he went an outing with a cast member that probably didn't know "it was a date," Jennifer noted, "I had something like that with Austin Butler, I'm not gonna lie." She recalled on the Feb. 20 episode, "But he like came over to the house and we went somewhere to get snacks and stuff."
When David asked if the outing was "Netflix and chill" vibes, Jennifer replied, "kind of, but it was not that for him."
She added, "It was not that for him at all," suggesting that Austin probably didn't consider it a date.
It turns out that being on the show didn't land Jennifer the greatest success with her love life, with her confessing that her male co-stars seemed to have other intentions.
"A lot of times what would happen is the guy would talk to me and we'd have a great time and I'd feel like 'Oh like this going well,'" Jennifer recalled. "And then at the end of the week, they would pass me their number to give it to Selena. And it was so s--tty."
Was Austin like that? No, according to Jennifer, who explained, "I don't think Austin was one of those people, but a lot of guys did that and it was really s--tty."
Looks like Jennifer, a registered nurse, and Austin, who is dating Kaia Gerber, have continued to find magic their own ways.
